The watch: still as indispensable?
Partager
As technology increasingly occupies a place in our lives, we have quick access to the time, whether on our mobile, our tablet, or on our computer screen.
As a result, the habit of checking the time on our wrist has gradually been replaced by pressing the home button of our smartphone, or shaking our mouse a little, almost relegating the watch to the status of a gadget.
For many, wearing a watch is no longer as essential as before. Today, although it is still indispensable for some, the watch has become more of a fashion accessory, just like a piece of jewelry.
Thus, we see several watch models appearing on the market that are more trendy, more colorful, more original, or even funkier than each other, which alone can perfectly complete a look depending on the effect one wants to create (rebel, sporty, sophisticated, "bling bling", etc.). A watch can say a lot about the personality of the person wearing it...
At the same time, we can observe an emergence of large format watches (large dial, wide strap) on which we can barely tell the time, the importance of the look having taken precedence over the main function of the watch!
One thing is certain, although it has modified its purpose a bit, the watch is an accessory that is not going to disappear and continues to adapt over generations. One only has to think of the arrival, in recent decades, of more "tech" watches, smartwatches (e.g., iwatch), etc.!
And you?
What is your relationship with watches?
Is it essential to you?
